A Gift for KHOJ (Edition I) Photography Portfolio

EURART Project and KHOJ International Artists’ Association are pleased to announce the inauguration of their collaborative efforts to extend the fundraising arm of the New Delhi-based Artists’ Association. As a first step of a series of future collaborations to come, EURART Project will introduce and market for sale the charitable portfolios of KHOJ, through its globally accessible online platform, becoming the organization’s exclusive agent of representation for this purpose in Europe.

Guided by a dynamic vision defined through a set of shared values, both KHOJ and EURART have come into existence with the goal of supporting artists’ careers and enhancing cultural exchange on an international scale, whilst operating as a global platform for nurturing artistic creativity. The raison d’être of the collaboration regarding the charitable portfolios is further underpinned by the exclusive works’ affordable nature, an important factor on EURART’s agenda in making art collecting accessible and bringing the enjoyment of high quality art closer to people around the world.

The Art World Captured from the Back by Andre Smits

Classical portraits in photography tend to be in frontal positioning. André Smits does something else. He considers the portrait of his art world-bound subjects to be fully captured in the context of their immediate environment that is reflective of their creative process, their thoughts and who they really are. In a rather unconventional manner, he turns his subjects around, to have their back towards the camera and with this playful repositioning of the central figure he shifts the viewer's attention to the object of contemplation of the person being photographed. 

In his words: 'It is that moment of reflection that I would like to capture in my photographs. There is also a certain sense of solitude inherent to the artistic profession, which I hope to convey. Through my journey of studios, I am interested in exploring what compels artists to isolate themselves in order to dedicate their lives to their art. "

EURART Project is pleased to unveil the product of its inaugural collaboration with Australian-born artist and fashion-designer Anna Coroneo: “Babes of Manhattan,” a set of limited edition prints radiating the eclectic style and vibrancy of New York City. The prints, along with Coroneo’s newly launched stationary line and glamorous silk scarves were introduced for the first time during NYC Fashion Week last month.
